Cirsium Rivulare Atropurpureum
Cirsium Rivulare is a spectacular, deep crimson thistle borne on erect stems in June/ August above spiny, dark green leaves.
This long flowering handsome
towering thistle is a valuable addition to a summer garden and looks very much at home in a wildflower meadow. Although the plant will tolerate dry conditions and partial shade, it does best in a moist, sunny border. Butterflies and bees love it.
Another example of a hardy perennial which thrives in the North East Of Scotland. Plant at the back of the mixed border and enjoy.
Hardiness – Fully hardy
Soil – Well drained, slightly acidic
Height – 200/250cm
