Clematis Montana Mayleen

Clematis Montana, one of the most vigorous of all Clematis in cultivation. it will completely engulf and destroy any tree or shrub. Don’t get me wrong it is one of the most beautiful of all the clematis, but do not use a host for this one.

The Montana to choose if you also want fragrance has to be Mayleen. The vanilla fragrance from the pale pink profussion of flowers set against bronze foliage is truly outstanding.

Pruning of Montana is done after flowering and generally just requires a tidy up. However if you feel it is becoming a bit overgrown, you can be quite severe with your pruning and it will still flower the next year.

Hardiness – Fully hardy

Position – Full sun/Partial shade

Flowering – May/June
